My Mom’s Hip Surgery

This isn’t a real doctor, but he plays one on my blog.  This isn’t a real doctor, but he plays one on my blog.

Just a quick update from the surgery waiting room at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Indiana to say that my mom, Nancy Dunning, fared well during the replacement of her left hip.

My brother, Scott, mom and I arrived at 6 a.m.  Mom checked in and was prepped (the i.v. drip and a bunch of beta-dyne) before being taken to surgical holding at promptly 8 a.m.  The surgery began just after 9 a.m. and we spoke with Dr. Henry Kim about 10:30, getting the report that all went well.   We’re looking forward to seeing her shortly.

To all of you who have been praying – thank you!

3:30 p.m. Update

Mom is resting in her 8th floor room.  She is relatively pain free and resting comfortably.
