Christmas 2007 In The Books

The Dunnings enjoyed a leisurely Christmas Day in Niles, Michigan with my mom. Present opening began shortly after 6:30 a.m. (we held Nolan off as long as possible) followed by breakfast and some parade watching. I took the dog for a long walk and followed that up by heaving a fallen tree over the riverbank and raking a bunch of leaves left over from fall. The day was 40 degrees and sunny – about the next best thing to a white Christmas.

Today the weather is more of the same and shortly we will head to the stores enabling the children to spend some of their Christmas cash.

Tomorrow we meet Andies dad somewhere around Chicagoland for lunch and a gift exchange. Then in the evening Andie and I will have dinner with a small group of my high school friends that I have not seen in ten years. Since we failed to get a 20-year class reunion together, this will suffice.

I hope you are relaxing and enjoying some time of reflection this week. We all need it more than we realize!

During my Christmas Day nap, I was brutally attacked by a hand-held massage tool.
